The Design Center was the first of its kind in Korea to independently focus on automotive design.
Today, it leads global trends with designs that harmonize people and their emotions. To predict global design trends and study lifestyles in regional markets, we are building a global design network connecting major cities in the US, Europe, Japan and newly emerging economies.
The Design Center will spearhead even more original and innovative designs to raise our profile as a global leading automaker.

- Predict future styling trends.
- Research for new & unique aesthetics.

- Analyze competitors' models.
- Analyze styling trends through the motor shows and other events.
- Analyze lifestyles (image map production).
- Analyze style positioning maps.

- Propose preliminary ideas for creating a concrete image of the target car model.

- Designers use colored pencils, markers and other tools to draft concrete images of the future shapes they envision.

- Computer-Aided Styling(CAS) :
Digital Design

- Suggest the concrete design image for 2D design evaluation.

- Consider the proportions of the side, front and rear view in order to express the image in sense of realism.

- Computer-Aided Styling(CAS) :
Digital Design

- Embody the 2D design image into the 3D shape.
- The model is used for measuring the air resistance coefficient in a wind tunnel.

- Computer-Aided Styling(CAS) :
Digital Design

- The design is recreated through a computer-generated 3D image whose data is then used for assessing design and aerodynamics.

- A design diagram is created to produce the full-scale model. At the same time, the design can be studied in its actual size.

- Line tape is used to represent the side, front and rear view of a design diagram in full scale.

- Computer-Aided Styling(CAS) :
Digital Design

- A full-scale 3D model is produced for design assessment and engineering inspection.

- The 3D (body) model and various trim pieces are crafted out of clay.

CNC-Computer Numeric Control

- Color designs are included in the initial product plan, and the work is carried out at the same time as styling. This involves not only the colors adorning the interior and exterior, but also all the areas related to materials, including embossing and surface treatment.
