U2 2.0
Hyundai's stated goal is to become the world leader in
fuel efficiency and these engines prove it. The 1.6ℓ
Gamma engine is equipped with Dual continuously
variable valve timing to boost horsepower output
(130 ps) and lower exhaust emissions while improving fuel
economy to best-in-class. Peak torque measures 16.0
kg·m at 4,850 rpm. The aluminum 1.8ℓ Nu engine is
capable of a maximum 150 ps while its peak torque rating
of 18.2 kg·m is reached at 4,700 rpm.

6-speed automatic transmission that saves more fuel Six is better than five as the extra gear boosts fuel economy. Elantra Coupe’s six-speed automatic transmission is specially developed for the compact car. And like Hyundai engines it is made in-house, which further proves Hyundai’s highly advanced engineering capabilities.

Silky smooth 6-speed manual transmission For purists who insist on doing their own shifting, Hyundai offers a six-speed manual transmission. Economical, quiet and ultra-smooth, the six-speed is designed to deliver years and years of trouble free operation.

  • Eco-driving system and silica tires
The Eco-driving indicator embedded in the instrument panel helps remote thriftier driving habits, flashing red when you are wasting fuel and green when you are conserving fuel. Standard silica tires reduce rolling resistance and help to further reduce your fuel bill.

  • Organ-type accelerator pedals
The organ-type accelerator pedals are proven to provide a better feel. For a light sporty touch, there’s the aluminum alloy pedal as an option. (accelerator, brake and footrest.)

Electronic stability control (ESC)
that senses what to do

Electronic stability control (ESC) continuously monitors vehicle directional stability and tire traction. If the system senses the car is about to skid and risks spinning out of control, ESC automatically intervenes to apply the brakes over individual wheels to prevent the loss of directional control. Vehicle stability management (VSM) comes with ESC which helps the vehicle maintain directional stability when suddenly braking or rapidly accelerating under asymmetric (wet / dry) road surface conditions where traction over the four tires can suddenly become uneven.

Vehicle stability management (VSM)
A Vehicle stability management system takes safety to the next level by combining the intelligence of Electronic stability control (ESC) with Motor driven power steering (MDPS) to avoid loss of control which can be caused when sudden braking or rapid accelerating under asymmetric (wet / dry) road surface conditions. The system completely operates automatically without requiring any input from the driver.

Advanced-high tensile strength steel
No ordinary, run-of-the-mill steel, the advance-high tensile strength steel is a high performance special steel alloy applied to safety-critical areas of the body shell where additional strength reinforcement is required. The benefit is superior crashworthiness.

Safety multiplied with 6-airbag system protection
Elantra Coupe comes with six airbags: dual front airbags for the driver and passenger plus dual front seat mounted airbags and dual side curtain airbags which offer additional protection against side impacts.

Parking assist system that sees what you can't
When reversing, the rear bumper-mounted sensors can detect unseen obstacles in your path and send an audible warning.

  • Safety power window
Safety sensors on the power windows prevent pinching whenever an obstacle is detected. When detecting an obstacle, the window automatically reverses direction.

Supervision cluster adds a touch of luxury

Transforming the ordinary into the exceptional, the supervision instrument display brings a touch of
luxury car technology to Elantra Coupe. Brilliant but gentle on the eyes, supervision gauges add
an extra measure of pleasure to driving.

Air conditioning system
Set-and-forget automatic temperature control also allows individual adjustment for left and right sides. Clean ionizer system purifies the air and deodorizes harmful gases by generating cluster ions.

Cabin temperature management
The heating and ventilation system has been carefully engineered to ensure the uniform distribution of warm air - or cool, as desired - to every corner of the cabin. Plus, the user-friendly design of the full auto temperature control has eliminated guesswork in operating the system.

Steering wheel remote control
The steering wheel remote control lets drivers use audio and other functions conveniently while driving without distracting their view to help them drive safely.

  • Audio remote control Steering wheel audio buttons (option) include volume,
radio tuning and a high-low control tumbler switch.
  • Heated steering wheel The steering wheel comes with an optional heating function
so that drivers can keep their hands nice and warm when
    driving in the cold winter.
  • Auto cruise control Optional auto cruise control allows drivers to preset their
desired speed so that they may drive without
    stepping on the pedals.
  • Flex Steer™ system The Flex Steer™ system (option) allows drivers to choose
from normal, comfort, and sports modes according to their
preference and driving conditions. They may enjoy a lighter
steering wheel in the city with the comfort mode, choose the
normal mode that makes the steering wheel feel slightly
heavier for the highway or opt for the sports mode for
    higher-precision handling response.
  • Phone control Don't have to lift your hand from the steering wheel to
answer a phone call. All the control you will need regarding
your phone is at your fingertips.

  • Audio system
With iPod, auxiliary and USB input ports, Elantra Coupe offers full connectivity for the most popular types of personal music players as well as mobile phones.

  • Engine start / stop button
No more fumbling in your pockets and bag searching for the key. As long as you have the key, the car will start with the push of a button.

  • Connectivity (AUX, USB, iPod)
Take you personal playlist with you: The world of sound is right at your fingertips. Elantra Coupe accepts USB, iPod and auxiliary device inputs, so simply plug in your favorite device and enjoy.

  • One-touch signal system
Signal with less effort to safely change lanes. The turn indicator starts flashing with a gentle tap of the stalk and turns off after a brief, preset interval. Another automatic helper is the auto light control. It switches on lights at dusk and dawn and turns them off after you park and lock the car.

  • Heated steering wheel
Happiness is gripping Elantra Coupe's warm steering wheel on a freezing winter day. A new feature that is certain to be much appreciated in the colder climes of our planet.
