Making smarter vehicles!
We are realizing intelligent vehicles by developing semiconductors and infotainment and control systems (driving and safety functions) for vehicles by expanding research into electronic technology, we are leading the evolution of vehicles.
A vehicle is the culmination of cutting-edge electric and electronic technologies. While the current ratio of costs for the electronics system parts of a vehicle is 25%, this figure is expected to rise to 40% by 2015 in response to various legal requirements, more advanced safety systems and changing customer demands.
The most representative infotainment system is telematics, created by the fusion of telecommunication and informatics. Featuring a state-of-the-art communication terminal with built-in GPS that is connected to various other electronic devices in the vehicle, the system offers various useful information to the driver to promote safer driving. Hyundai·Kia Motors became the first company in Korea to offer an integrated telematics service called Mozen to enhance the comfort and pleasure of driving.
We are developing the ASV system which is a core technology of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) that integrate people, vehicles and roads to produce a safer and smarter driving experience.
