1) Team Hyundai

Hyundai is proud to present five top football players as brand ambassadors for the UEFA EURO 2012™: Iker Casillas (Spain), Lukas Podolski (Germany), Giuseppe Rossi (Italy), Karim Benzema (France) and Daniel Sturridge (England).

The five ambassadors will be rivals on the field during EURO 2012, but they are united by their passion for football. Their determination and talent sets them apart on the field, and every Team Hyundai player has the potential to be a game changer during this year's tournament.

The Team Hyundai launching event, held in Frankfurt on March 15, 2012, marked the start of their activities. Team Hyundai will be the center of Hyundai's EURO 2012 marketing campaign, with their use in TV commercials, out-of-home advertising, print advertising and various on- and off-line activities.

2) Make a Pledge

Hyundai is serious about supporting people to realize their ambitions to become game-changers of the future.

Football fans and followers of Hyundai are invited to participate in the project, reflecting our commitment to always engage in a way that reflects the spirit of the game – through openness and inclusion.

By entering the dedicated application on Hyundai's global Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Hyundaiworldwide), football fans are encouraged to make their pledge.

For each pledge, Hyundai will donate €1, and Hyundai's total donation of €250,000 will be made to support the game-changers of the future.

3) EURO Test Drive

Before and during the EURO 2012, Hyundai's local distributors are open for test drives of Hyundai's wide range of models. Customers can test-drive Hyundai's exciting new-generation i30, a car designed in Europe for Europeans. About 500 match tickets and 120 hospitality packages for the EURO 2012 tournament will be handed out to those who participate in this program. Customers can enhance their tournament experience by writing messages on large Team Hyundai uniforms.

4) Hyundai Fan Park

Football fans of the world are invited to visit Hyundai Fan Parks where they can cheer on their team with friends and family while watching the matches live on big screens. In addition, they can enjoy a wide range of activities, including a skills competition, the Digital Goodwill Ball, 3D graffiti and get a look at the latest Hyundai cars.

Hyundai Fan Parks will be held in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Czech Republic and Russia.

5) Hyundai Predictor

The Hyundai Predictor is the ultimate one-page prediction game on UEFA.com. Fans can enter their results of each EURO 2012 match to guess which teams will advance to the last eight, final four and all the way to the final.

Hyundai offers fans the chance to win exciting prizes, including autographed jerseys of Team Hyundai players.

6) Be There With Hyundai

The slogan contest program, "Be There With Hyundai," has enjoyed increasing popularity since its introduction at EURO 2004.

Hyundai gave football fans a unique chance to support and cheer on their teams by participating in a team slogan contest. The winning slogans will be used to decorate the national team buses.

As a prize, the winner from each country will be invited to Hyundai's hospitality program, held in Gdansk, Poland, during the quarterfinal match.

Hyundai Provides Vehicles for UEFA EURO 2012™, Unveils Fan-Inspired National Team Buses

Hyundai Motor announced today that it will provide 366 of its most exciting vehicles for use by UEFA EURO 2012™ officials, guests and others during the matches next month in Poland and Ukraine.

During the handover ceremony at Poland’s National Stadium in Warsaw, the company unveiled the official national team buses, each one wrapped with a fan-created slogan cheering on the teams of the 16 participating nations. Hyundai’s “Be There With Hyundai” contest allowed fans to submit slogans to adorn the national team buses. Fans began submitting slogans in December and the 16 winners were announced on May 7.

“Football conveys dynamism, excitement and passion,” said Hyundai Motor Europe President Terry Im. “These are precisely the emotions that Hyundai wants to share with our customers.”

“With only 23days to go before the tournament begins, the vehicle handover is a key milestone in the preparation for UEFA EURO 2012™,” said Guy-Laurent Epstein, Marketing Director, UEFA Events SA. “Recognized as a leading global maker of stylish, reliable and comfortable vehicles, Hyundai will contribute to the tournament organization by providing teams, officials and guests with high quality transportation.”

Attending the handover ceremony were officials from Hyundai Motor, UEFA and the local organizing committee.

To support the UEFA EURO 2012™ matches next month, Hyundai will hand over the following models: Equus, Genesis, ix55, Santa Fe, ix35, i40, Sonata, Elantra and the new-generation i30. In addition, Hyundai will provide more than 200 H1 vans.

Highlighting the handover were Hyundai’s luxury vehicles and the top performers of its European i-series, cars designed in Europe for European motorists.

Equus and Genesis are Hyundai’s top-of-the-line rear-wheel-drive luxury vehicles. New-generation i30, which debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September, is the newest version of Hyundai’s biggest-selling car in Europe, and is joined by i40, Hyundai’s European flagship.

The UEFA EURO 2012™ kicks off on June 8 and concludes on July 1. Hyundai is an official automotive sponsor of UEFA EURO 2012™ and has sponsored the UEFA EURO™ tournament since 2000.

Hyundai Motor today announced winning slogans picked by fans to adorn the official buses of the 16 national teams participating in the upcoming UEFA EURO 2012 soccer tournament, as sponsored by the "Be There With Hyundai" fan contest.

The slogans will be wrapped around team buses for the duration of the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament, which will be held in Poland and Ukraine from June 8 to July 1.

The winning slogans for each of the 16 participating UEFA EURO 2012 nations and their English translations appear in the following table.

In addition to seeing their slogan wrapped around an official national team bus, each of the 16 winners receives two hospitality packages to a quarter-final match in Gdansk, Poland. Packages include flights, hotel accommodations, match tickets, food and tours.

The worldwide "Be There With Hyundai" contest allowed fans of the 16 participating nations to submit slogans that would wrap around the official bus carrying the team from their favorite nation. Fans began submitting slogans in December 2011.

In April, the top three slogans from each country were uploaded onto UEFA.com to allow all fans to vote on the slogans.

The winning slogans were picked from 5,250 entries submitted through UEFA.com as well as other channels, such as Hyundai Poland's Facebook page.

Hyundai is an official sponsor of the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament.

Hyundai Motor Company, whose joint venture in China is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, today unveiled its China-exclusive Elantra (“Langdong,” or 朗動 in Chinese) and its all-new Santa Fe at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, held at the China International Exhibition Center.

Langdong, which can be translated as a “dynamic (car) for the young, new generation,” is based on Hyundai Motor’s best-selling and multi-award winning Elantra that has captured the hearts of customers worldwide. Together with its new third-generation Santa Fe, Hyundai aims to boost its mid- to large-sized vehicle offerings in China and raise its brand image.

“A decade ago, Hyundai was known for making only small cars. Today, our Equus and Genesis* luxury cars compete with the best vehicles that Europe can make,” Seung-Tack Kim, Executive Vice President & COO of Hyundai Motor’s Global Business Division, said in Beijing today. “Ten years ago, we were a follower in the auto industry. Today, we are a leader – and ready for the future.”

Langdong, which will be produced at Hyundai’s new, third plant in Beijing in the second half of this year, is expected to accelerate the upward momentum for Hyundai in the world’s largest auto market. Beijing Hyundai Motor Co. (BHMC), Hyundai’s joint venture in China, is currently building a third plant, which will raise its maximum production capacity to one million units.

Langdong is based on a design concept called Wind Craft that is part of Hyundai’s larger design philosophy of Fluidic Sculpture, which has been applied to the company’s entire lineup since 2009. The aggressive front-end design of Langdong, with its wraparound headlights, creates a feeling of motion and strength. The streamlined character line on the side volume sweeps back dramatically toward the rear, giving the entire vehicle the appearance of having been crafted by the wind.

Langdong is a compact car with the feel of a larger car. With an overall length of 4,690 mm, width of 1,880 mm, height of 1,680 mm and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, Langdong is larger than its competitors. This means Langdong provides consumers with the convenience of a compact car but the practicality and comfort of a mid-sized car.

Hyundai’s 1.6L and 1.8L MPI engines will be offered on Langdong. The 1.6L engine has a maximum power of 93.8kW (127.4ps) and a maximum torque of 155.5N.m(15.9kg.m). The 1.8L engine has a maximum power of 107.4kW(146.1ps) and a maximum torque of 174.6N.m(17.8kg.m). Langdong also offers excellent fuel economy, beating its rivals with fuel-saving devices that include our 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions and Hyundai’s Active ECO driving mode.

Inside, premium features include a navigation system, dual-zone and fully automatic air conditioning; ventilated, fully adjustable power seats with seat heaters, an LCD instrument display and push-button start.

Driver safety is a high priority for Hyundai. Langdong, which has received the highest safety ratings from government agencies in Europe and the U.S., has a series of active and passive safety features including side air bags, an emergency brake reminder and a tire pressure monitoring system, to name a few.

Hyundai will introduce its advanced Blue Link infotainment system to Langdong. Blue Link offers a wide variety of features such as safety and maintenance alerts, navigation and remote control, all with minimum driver distraction. Starting from the first half of this year, Hyundai plans to expand its lineup of cars in China that offer the Blue Link service.

Also at Beijing, Hyundai unveiled its all-new Santa Fe, which made its world premiere at the 2012 New York International Auto Show this month. The new Santa Fe showcases the brand’s cutting-edge capabilities through its new design, impressive fuel economy and a host of advanced features.

The exterior of the Santa Fe invokes the impression of irrepressible motion through its own design concept called Storm Edge, which captures the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm. The futuristic and urban-style design, with its bold hexagonal front grille, lets people know immediately that Santa Fe is a Hyundai.

Hyundai believes the all-new Santa Fe, which will begin sales in China in the second half of this year, will be a great answer to families with two or more kids that seek the size, flexibility and capability of a crossover at the same time.

Alongside Langdong and the new Santa Fe, Hyundai also displayed its top luxury vehicles, as well as its latest powertrain technologies and eco-friendly lineup, including its Extended Range Electric Vehicle concept car i-oniq, the Sonata Hybrid, BlueOn and its ix35 FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle).
